A dissolution of marriage, sometimes referred to as a divorce, is the legal recognition that your marriage has ended. To start a dissolution of marriage case in Oregon, you must file a petition for dissolution in the county where either you or your spouse live. However, there are two different petitions in Oregon: a petition for dissolution without children and a petition for dissolution with minor children. Since your children are adults, and I assume 18 years of age or older, you will file for dissolution without children.
