The Alabama State Bar provides a lawyer referral service to the general public to help you find an attorney who can assist you with your legal case. For more information about how to use the service, see http://www.alabar.org/lrs/. Generally, you call the lawyer referral service and explain the facts of your case. If an attorney in your area handles Privacy Act and HIPPA violations, then you will be provided with the attorney’s name and phone number. All attorneys who work with the lawyer referral service agree to charge $50 or less for a 30 minute initial consultation to discuss your case. However, if you agree to hire the attorney, you will need to work out your own fee agreement going forward with the case.
