Ohio’s lemon law protects
Submitted by elizabethcarlsen on
Ohio’s lemon law protects consumers who purchase a vehicle with a defect or nonconformity that affects the vehicle during its first 12 months or 18,000 miles of use. However, the manufacturer is given three attempts to successfully repair the vehicle before the lemon law may be enforced. If the manufacturer is unable to fix the problem, you may be entitled to a refund or a replacement vehicle. Unfortunately, used vehicles are not protected under Ohio’s lemon law even if the vehicle is protected under an extended warranty. If you feel as though your vehicle is a lemon, contact the dealership where you purchased the vehicle and make them aware of your vehicle’s problem. Keep a record of all conversations you have with the dealership including how they propose to repair your vehicle.
