Getting a Cambodian Tourist Visa in the U.S.

Jurisdiction:

Area of Law:

US Passport

A visa is an indication that the person holding the document is allowed to enter the country that issued it.  However, the possession of a visa is not in itself a guarantee of entry.  Rather, the issuing country may rescind a visa at any time.  The primary purpose of a visa is to enable the host country to substantiate the identity of the visa applicant before their entry into the country.

Cambodian Tourist Visas

Cambodia is a frequent travel destination for tourists.  Cambodia requires that United States travelers show a valid passport and a valid Cambodian visa when entering the country.  In order to attain a Cambodian tourist visa, you must submit an application to the Royal Embassy of Cambodia.

United States citizens may apply for tourist visas that are valid for three months starting from the issue date, and authorize the holder for a single entry for a length of 30 days.  The visa may be extended after entering Cambodia for a maximum period of one month for the cost of $25.

There are currently five valid ports of entry to Cambodia, and you can pick up your visa upon entering the country.  The five ports of entry are: Phnomh Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International Airport, Cham Yeam, Poi Pet, and Bavet.
