To enter into a valid marriage in Mississippi, you must apply for a marriage license, complete a legally recognized marriage ceremony, and file the completed marriage license with the Circuit Clerk after the ceremony is complete. The requirements for a Mississippi marriage license include providing the clerk with a valid form of ID. Both spouses must provide a birth certificate or drivers license and the form of ID must be in English. In addition, if either individual is under the age of 21, a parent must sign a court order giving their minor child permission to marry. A fee will be required at the time you apply for a marriage license and must be paid to the Circuit Clerk. If all requirements are met, it does not matter whether the spouses are legally in this country or not.
