Nevada does not recognize

Nevada does not recognize common law marriages, and a valid marriage license and ceremony must occur before a couple will be recognized as married in the state. If the home is in your name only and you are not married or registered as domestic partners, the property is yours to keep when your relationship ends. Your boyfriend will have no valid legal claim to your home. However, if you are still concerned about your home, contact a Nevada attorney as soon as possible to discuss your situation. For more information about the requirements to obtain a marriage or domestic partnership in Nevada, see http://leg.state.nv.us/Division/Research/Publications/PandPReport/30-FL.pdf.
