Tarrant Count has a variety of resources that provide service in and around Fort Worth, Texas.

Legal Aid of Northwest Texas – Free civil legal assistance to low income residents of 114 Texas counties. Eligibility guidelines can be found on Legal Aid of Northwest Texas' website. The Fort Worth office offers clinics on a variety of legal topics including general civil matters, wills, employment matters and bankruptcy. Call 1-800-955-3959 to find out more about Legal Aid, schedule an intake appointment or reserve a spot at an upcoming clinic.

 

Tarrant County Bar Association Lawyer Referral and Information Service  – Call 817-336-4101, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday to schedule a 30-minute consultation with an attorney for a $20 fee.

 

Tarrant County Bar Association LegalLine – Call 817-335-1239 the second and fourth Thursday of every month, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Volunteer attorneys answer questions for free over the phone.

Dallas County Bar Association LegalLine – Call 214-220-7476 the second and third Wednesday of every month, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Volunteer attorneys answer questions for free over the phone. Spanish-speaking attorneys are available.

 

Texas A&M University School of Law – Law Clinic - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday. Call 817-212-4123 for intake, appointments and referrals. Free legal assistance for low income individuals. Services are performed by law students working under the supervision of attorneys.

 

Legal Hotline for Texans – Call 1-800-622-2520 for free legal advice, self-help publications and referrals for Texans over age 60 or who receive Medicare.

 

Texas Lawyers for Texas Veterans, Tarrant County Chapter – Clinic offers free legal advice for U.S. veterans and spouses of deceased veterans on the third Friday of every month, by appointment only. Call 817-546-4460 to make an appointment.

 

SafeHaven of Tarrant County - Offers emergency shelter, legal services, counseling and more to domestic violence victims. Call 877-701-7233 for assistance.
