Incorporating in Colorado is relatively easy.  This article will provide you with resources to understand how the incorporation process works in Colorado and the legal forms from the Colorado Secretary of State that you will need to incorporate in Colorado.

While it is not required, it is advisable to check the availability of a company name before filing any paperwork. A preliminary check of a name can be done at the Records Search page. At this point, you can choose to reserve a name for a fee of $25.00, the process for which can be started here.  Once the preliminary name has been approved, you can complete the necessary information to reserve your name.

The Colorado Business Division website offers an easy online application process. If you chose not to do a name availability check, completing this application will be your first step to incorporating. After putting in the proposed business name, you will be directed to a new page, which will request additional information. The fee for filing the online Articles of Incorporation is $50.00. If your document is filed successfully, you should receive a "Transaction Confirmation" page. Documents filed online will be available immediately after their successful submission on the website.

Annual reports can also be filed online, the process for which begins with the Record Identification or ID Search page. You then can follow the easy step-by-step guide offered by the Colorado Secretary of State website. The fee for filing an annual report is $10.00.
